Wednesday 6th September was a momentous day for the Foundation as the Sir Simon Milton Westminster UTC, set up in memory of Sir Simon Milton, London’s visionary public service leader, opened its doors to its very first students.
Five years ago today the Founding Trustees of the Sir Simon Milton Foundation, Lisa Milton (Simon’s sister), Robert Davis MBE DL (Simon’s civil partner), The Lady Flight, Sir Peter Rogers and Julia Corkey, put their pens to a Trust Deed creating the Sir Simon Milton Foundation.
The judging is now over and we are delighted to announce that our garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show has won a Silver Medal. For the second year running the Foundation has had a garden at the Show, this time a Show Garden placed in the prestigious Main Avenue.
The Queen visited us on the opening day of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show at our Show Garden, '500 Years of Covent Garden - The Sir Simon Milton Foundation Garden in partnership with Capco', on the prestigious Main Avenue of the Show. Her Majesty was presented with a gift to mark Capco's support for the Foundation's Show Garden.
On Monday 20th March 2017, the Halcyon Gallery in New Bond Street kindly hosted a reception to launch our book 'City of Westminster - A celebration of People and Places'. Published by Quartet Books, this fabulous coffee table type photographic book depicts a year in the life of the City of Westminster.
On Thursday 16th March 2017 the Hippodrome Casino hosted a fundraising dinner in support of the Sir Simon Milton Foundation for the third year running. The fact that we were oversubscribed within a week of announcing the date of the dinner shows how popular this event has become.
