Foundation book launch
On Monday 20th March 2017, the Halcyon Gallery in New Bond Street kindly hosted a reception to launch our book 'City of Westminster - A celebration of People and Places'. Published by Quartet Books, this fabulous coffee table type photographic book depicts a year in the life of the City of Westminster. It is a celebration of the city, its people and its places, but seen from a unique perspective. It shows the extraordinary variety to be found in the city from the great and the good, some of the Westminster institutions, such as the great centres of faith, the pageantry of The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and Her Majesty's Bodyguard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms as well as our street cleaners, markets and some of older citizens.
With a Foreword by the renowned observer of the City, Simon Jenkins, and beautifully illustrated by photographer, Alice Rosenbaum, it is also a tribute to Sir Simon Milton whose vision for the city led to the creation of the Sir Simon Milton Foundation.
Our thanks go to Naim Attallah CBE, Chairman of Quartet Books, and Eran Akerman who was the perfect host on the evening. Money raised by the book will support our programmes to help the city’s young into employment through education and training and reduce loneliness amongst the older residents of the city.
Copies of the book are available through the Foundation.
