John Barradell OBE (Chairman)

John Barradell has been Town Clerk & Chief Executive of the City of London Corporation since 2012. Before that he was Chief Executive at Brighton & Hove City Council. He began his public sector career at Westminster City Council in 2002 where he eventually finished serving as Deputy Chief Executive during Simon Milton’s time as Leader of the Council. John has undertaken voluntary roles including over twenty years as Chief Officer, Special Constabulary for the Metropolitan Police Service, where he was responsible for the leadership of 1900 volunteer officers in London. He has been Chairman of the Foundation since 2016.

Julia Corkey

Julia Corkey is a founding Trustee of the Foundation. She has worked for Westminster City Council since 2000 and is also a founding director of Westco Trading Ltd, a Council-owned company that sells communications and strategic consultancy to the public and private sector. Read More...

Julia is currently Director of Policy, Performance and Communications at Westminster City Council. Her team works across policy, research, business intelligence, member services, change management, behaviour change, evaluation and digital communications. Her charitable work started with supporting a Northern Irish charity ‘Hope for Youth’ where she was a trustee as well as serving as a member of the Order of St John Guild.

Robert Davis MBE DL (Deputy Chairman)

Robert Davis has served as a Councillor on Westminster City Council since 1982. He is Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for the Built Environment. He was Lord Mayor of Westminster in 1996-1997 and currently serves as a Deputy Lord Mayor. He is also a Deputy Lieutenant for Greater London. Read More...

Robert is a founding Trustee of the Sir Simon Milton Foundation. He also chairs and is a trustee of a number of other charities and voluntary organisations. A solicitor by profession, specialising in property law, he recently retired as a partner in Freeman Box. Robert was Simon’s civil partner.

The Baroness Eaton DBE DL

Baroness Margaret Eaton of Cottingley is a Conservative Party life peer in the House of Lords, with a distinguished political career. She has been a Councillor with Bradford Metropolitan Borough Council since 1986 and succeeded Simon Milton as Chair of the Local Government Association until June 2011. Read More...

During her career, Margaret has served numerous appointments in Bradford and has been Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire since 2008. Her affiliations include appointments as Chair and Trustee of Near Neighbours, a national registered charity, Ambassador for the Angelus Foundation, a national registered charity for drugs education and trustee of Cottingley Town Hall in Bradford.

The Lady Flight (Christabel) has been a Councillor of the City of Westminster since 2006. Her roles since then include acting as Westminster’s Older People's Champion and Lord Mayor (2015-16). A lady of ideas and making them happen, Christabel came up with idea for the Sir Simon Milton Foundation in memory of her mentor. She was also the originator of Silver Sunday, the annual Christmas Tea Dance, and the Sir Simon Milton University Technical College Westminster.

Julie Jones CBE

Julie Jones worked in local government for most of her career and was Director of Social Services and Deputy Chief Executive in Westminster during Simon Milton’s time as Leader of the Council. Before retiring in 2012 she was Chief Executive of SCIE. She was elected President of the Association of Directors of Social Services and awarded an OBE in 2003 and a CBE in 2009 for services to local government and social care in London and the UK. Julie now serves on a number of care and housing boards and sits on the Fellowship Committee for City and Guilds and on the Church of England’s national safeguarding advisory panel. She lives in London and enjoys time with her 3 young granddaughters

Lisa Milton is Sir Simon Milton’s sister and a founding Trustee of the Sir Simon Milton Foundation. She worked in the Milton family business, Sharaton Patisseries, from childhood until it was sold in 1994. Read More...

Tony Pidgley CBE

Tony Pidgley is the founder and current Chairman of Berkeley Group. He has gained a national reputation for building homes and creating successful places and communities. Tony’s expertise has been used to advise the Mayor on the Outer London Commission and the Government on the disposal of public sector land, estate regeneration, and housing our aging population. Sarah previously worked as a journalist and political strategist, and she holds a number of non-executive and voluntary roles which focus on educational attainment, inclusion and social mobility. Sarah served in Simon’s Cabinet during her time as a Westminster City Councillor and he was a much loved friend and mentor, and Godfather to her son, Hugo.

Sir Peter Rogers

Peter retired in 2008 but was brought back by Boris Johnson to overhaul the London Development Agency and became an Advisor to the Mayor on Regeneration as well as handling the economic aftermath of the London riots. Peter now works as a Non-Executive Director in both profit and non-profit organisations. He was the founding Chairman of the Foundation until 2016.

Duncan Whitfield (Honorary Treasurer)

Duncan is Strategic Director of Finance and Governance at Southwark Council. He joined Southwark in 2005 after 18 years at the City of Westminster and remembers fondly the period of working with Sir Simon under his leadership. A former British Army officer, Matthew’s 35 year military career culminated in the rank of Major General as Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Personnel) in the UK Ministry of Defence.
